Prospective Parent Question: As I consider enrolling my child at Holy Child Catholic School, I am interested in knowing the ways that you incorporate the Catholic faith in pre-school. Can you give me some examples?
Response from Mrs. Healy (Kindergarten Teacher): “Faculty member’s answer”
Religion is an integral part of our pre-school program. In addition to using the Religion series and following the Archdiocesan guidelines for teaching the children about their faith, we incorporate what they have learned throughout the day. The children are encouraged to act like "Friends of Jesus" and to do simple service projects throughout the year. We pray together each day and the children are always invited to include their own personal petitions. The children enjoy acting out some of the bible stories they have learned. In December, they create a "First Christmas" video story where they paint the scenery, write the script and act out the story. During Lent, we have a "Lenten Garden" where the children place flowers when they do an act of kindness. The children enjoy watching this garden grow. Our classroom also includes a "Prayer Corner" that the children are encouraged to visit throughout the day.
